Dr. Zhao Hai is a Senior Fellow of the Institute of World Economic and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of International Political Studies at the National Institute for Global Strategy (NIGS-CASS). His research interests range from China-US strategic relations to Asia-Pacific political economy and the Belt and Road Initiative. Previously, he worked as a research fellow at the National Strategy Institute at Tsinghua University. Dr. Zhao holds a PhD of International history from the University of Chicago. He is an opinion writer for the China Daily, and a frequent commentator for the China Global Television Network and China Radio International.
