Rebecca Fannin is an author, journalist and media founder. Her four books including Silicon Heartland (2023), Silicon Dragon, Startup Asia, and Tech Titans of China, have launched her as a speaker and commentator with appearances on CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg and talks at Brookings, SXSW, Harvard and Oxford, among others, in addition to expert testimony before Congress. Currently a special contributor for CNBC, she was a Forbes columnist for 10 years. She also has written features for Harvard Business Review, CEO and Worth. Her books have been translated in 10 languages and favourably reviewed by the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times. Her work has been cited by The New York Times and Time. Earlier in her career, she joined tech publication Red Herring as an editor in San Francisco, then followed the venture capital trail from Silicon Valley to Asia's emerging markets and became one of the first American journalists covering China's entrepreneurial boom. In 2010, she formed media, events and membership platform, Silicon Dragon Ventures. She resides today in Silicon Valley and New York City.
