Karim Hirji is SVP & Managing Director at Intact Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Intact Financial Corporation, Canada’s largest home, auto and business insurer.

Over his career at Intact, Karim has held leadership roles in distribution, finance, and corporate research & development. He relocated to Hong Kong in October 2019 where his responsibilities are two-fold: to open up Intact’s first international AI research and development facility which launched in February 2020 and now has 20 employees; and leading Intact Ventures, which has $400m to invest in technology startups that may disrupt the property and casualty industry. Intact Ventures has deployed $240M in capital over the last four years across 17 companies in Canada, US, Brazil, China and India, including Metromile and Acko.
