Gérard WOLF, 61 years old, was born in Geneva. Agronomy engineer (INA Paris), he then graduated at the Institute of Political Studies, Paris (Sciences Po). He is the Chairman of a French company, BRICS ACCESS, promoting partnerships between European companies and their counterparts in the Emerging countries. He is also Vice President of the Africa Committee of MEDEF International, the French Business Council. As a Senior Executive Businessman, he is
member of the International Council of the Global Leadership Foundation, London, chaired by FW de Klerk, Peace Nobel Price.Within EDF, the world biggest Energy Company, between October 1998 and October 2013, he took up several roles: Advisor to the Chairman till March 2001, and then Vice President in charge of the Group Coordination (2001-2002), Group Business Lines (2003-2004), Group Development and Major Projects (2004-2005). Between 2006 and 2013, he was Senior Executive Vice President, in charge of International Operations and Development. He was a member of the EDF Group Executive Committee From 1996 to 1998, Gérard Wolf joined the Home Affairs Ministry, in charge of the Emergency Services and Crisis Management Previously, between 1986 and 1996, he was State’s Representative (‘Corps Préfectoral’) in
several French Departments, as well as advisor to the Foreign Minister (1988-1990) in charge of
relationships with the industries. Gérard Wolf can speak five languages and he is
responsible of several sport associations.
