Meng Meng currently serves as a member of the 11th Guangzhou Huadu District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a member of the Standing Committee of the Carbon Emissions Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Committee and China Emissions Trading Association of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. She is also the Vice Chairwoman of the Guangdong Provincial Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization Technical Committee, and Vice president of the Guangdong Low-Carbon Development Promotion Association, etc. With a deep understanding and skilled application of carbon pricing theory, Meng was involved in the establishment and operation of the Guangzhou Emission Exchange from 2012 to 2023, contributing greatly to promoting the Guangdong carbon market that has the largest regional one in China and with global influence. Her work in exploring market-oriented methods for energy saving and emission reduction has accumulated valuable experience in promoting the construction of a green financial system.
