Professor Ning R. Liu has strong interests and expertise in strategy, brand management, and marketing communications. He frequently gives lectures and speeches on wide ranging political, economic, and

social issues. In recent years, he has focused his research on higher education, with special interests in the areas of marketization and internationalization of higher education, as well as educational marketing and

innovation.  He has published journal articles in education and marketing, and a book in the field of marketization and decentralization of adult and continuing education in China.


He was journalist and marketing communication practitioner in the USA, before joining the University of Hong

Kong in 2000, as Assistant Director of Journalism and Media Studies Centre.  As a journalist in both China and the USA for over 15 years, he has published numerous awarded journalistic works and three books.  In 1996, he was awarded 500 most influential Asian Americans in the USA.
